A full 360° digital transformation from checking-in and scheduling activities to ordering services, drinks and a meaty mouth-filling hot dog or two.
Including Sandy Balls, Away Resorts has six locations throughout the UK that it wanted to incorporate into its new digital thinking. Following on from a series of strategy workshops and customer journey mapping sessions, I created initial prototypes before designing the user experience and art direction of the Away Resorts ‘park buddy’ app. Devised to help visitors make the most of their stay, the app has received top feedback from users and is that first step in a full digital transformation at Away Resorts.
The app enables guests to find out what’s on, book and manage activities and set favourites and reminders. The bespoke interactive park map helps guests navigate the parks. While e-commerce functionality enables guests to order home owner essentials. The bespoke weather five-day forecast allows guests to plan ahead whatever the weather.

From the initial prototype through to allowing users to make recommendations to ongoing developments of the app, the customer has always been central to the development of the app and its success.
